HIRING SALARY RANGE: $60,000 – $80,000 per annum (subject to change based on individual education, skills, and experience)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Engineering Analyst I is responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing data to provide valuable insights and support decision-making that aligns with EGD Consulting’s organizational objectives and client requirements. The incumbent will review complex data sets using a variety of analytical tools to translate findings into technical solutions for the integration of multiple systems. Under the direction of the Director Engineering/ WGD Leadership, the Engineering Analyst I will utilize their analytical knowledge and skills to integrate new and existing systems for efficient and reliable access to operational technologies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collect and analyze system processes to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Gather and document system requirements based on individual specifications
  • Assist with the creation of detailed technical specifications and documentation
  • Collaborate with internal teams to implement and test system changes
  • Assist with the roll out of test plans to ensure the quality and reliability of system changes
  • Support systems integration team with system testing to establish quality assurance and reliability
  • Review testing results and document deficiencies from intended outcomes
  • Monitor system performance and implement recommended optimizations as instructed by supervisors.
  • Update documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures
  • Contribute to the development of user manuals and training materials to facilitate end-user understanding

GENERAL DUTIES

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and provide data-driven solutions.
  • Ongoing learning of industry trends and changes in technology to ensure that project delivery method is current and relevant to client needs.
  • Continuous review of project timelines related to systems integration, engineering, and cybersecurity (technical and non-technical).
  • Develop working knowledge of information system standards such as American Public Transportation Association (APTA), US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), etc.
  • Other position relevant duties as assigned by WGD Leadership to support project operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1 + year’s systems analysis experience including reporting, testing, and troubleshooting complex operating technologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks related to systems integration and engineering timelines.
  • Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis tools such as Excel, Python, R, SQL, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large datasets and extract meaningful insights.
  • Understanding of statistical concepts and data modeling techniques.
  • Effective communication skills to convey complex findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations and best practices in data security.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively problem-solve using critical thinking and contingency planning.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to translate complex technical information into easy-to understand language.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to foster collaborative working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and clients.
  • Professional command of the English language in technical writing both spoken and written in all communications and presentation settings.
  • Sound knowledge of MS Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively as required.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Four (4+) year Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, statistics, data management, information systems or combination of skills and experience.
  • Possession of SAS, CompTIA or similar certification are considered an asset.
  • P.Eng designation (or in pursuit of) an asset.
  • Project Management experience an asset.
